Cosmic Air initiated its operation from the year 1997, with its base in Kathmandu in Nepal. Cosmic Air was the first to pioneer the second modifications of turbo prop aircrafts with pressurized cabins for its domestic flights. Cosmic Air is also a subordinate of the SOI Group which is an aggregation of 14 companies which have got interest in Aviation, Tourism, Telecommunications, Banking, General Trading, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and many more. After broadening the operations of the domestic airlines in November 2004, with its introduction of the jet aircrafts on its other routes and being the biggest airline in Nepal in relation to fleet, capacity of seats and traffic carriage, Cosmic Air started operating flights to different regions of Bangladesh and India.

At present, Cosmic Air operates its flights to New Delhi in India and Dhaka in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh it flies to Dhaka for five days a week whereas international flights to New Delhi two times a day. In fact, Cosmic Air operates cheap flights to different destinations, especially to New Delhi and has placed itself as a cheap carrier offering inexpensive air tickets to its customers. New Delhi has got its rank as the topmost gateway for Cosmic Air, which has got improved connectivity with the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
